David Alexander, M.S., L.P.C.

David Alexander, M.S., L.P.C., has a Masters degree in Counseling from Georgia State University. He is in private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Psychotherapist specializing in child and parenting concerns. He has been actively practicing in the Atlanta area for the past twenty seven years. David spent his early career working with the Georgia Mental Health Institute as an inpatient treatment coordinator, advocate and therapist for children and their families. Areas of specialties include: ADHD, anxiety, autism spectrum disorders, depression, developmental delays, learning differences, mood disorders, mourning/grieving, OCD, pervasive developmental disorders, post traumatic stress and family transitions. He has taken an active role in developing and providing specialized counseling resources and training for; domestic law professionals, mental health providers, parents, religious organizations and teachers. He is currently involved in mentoring and training other professionals in creating parenting plans and in the interdisciplinary practice of collaborative law, specifically in the area of divorce and child custody. He presents lectures and workshops both locally and nationally. He is the president and director of services for Atlanta Developmental Consultants, Inc. He is a founding member the non-profit Atlanta Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation. David is a long standing board member and past president of the Collaborative Law Institute of Georgia. David is also on the board of the Center for Navigating Family Changes. He is a member of the Atlanta Collaborative Divorce Alliance. David lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and children.
